Orbis Semiconductor Switches for automated testing applications

For decades, Orbis has been working with challenging testing applications and based on our experience, we have noticed the need for alternative solutions for mechanical relays.

Mechanical relays are commonly used in various testing applications. However, there is also a need for alternative solutions and in several applications, solid state switches can replace mechanical relays providing better performance and more reliable solution.

As part of our continuous testing component development Orbis has developed solid state switches to be used in various testing purposes in R&D or in production.

These switches provide improved performance in applications where mechanical relays are typically used. Advantages of solid stage switches are both technological and economical:

  • Fast switching
  • Repeatability of insertion loss characteristics
  • Long lifetime, unlimited number of switching cycles
  • Price efficiency
  • Opportunity to reduce price for high volume products if GaAs RF switches and other RF components are integrated into one RF PWB

Typical applications

  • Antenna measurements
  • Low noise amplifier measurements
  • Filter measurements
  • Signal distribution

Available models

  • SPDT reflective, high IIP3, P1dB = +35dBm, up to 2.5GHz
  • SP4T reflective, high IIP3, P1dB = +35dBm,up to 2.5GHz
  • SPDT non-reflective, high isolation, P1dB = +23dBm, isolation > 38dB, up to 6GHz
  • SP6T non-reflective, high isolation, P1dB = +21dBm, isolation > 38dB, up to 2.5GHz
  • SP4T non-reflective, high isolation, P1dB = +24dBm, isolation > 38dB, up to 6GHz
