DPM ID involves directly forming machine-readable codes on manufactured items and tracking those items as long as they are useful. Cognex has applied nearly a quarter century of machine-vision based image formation and image analysis expertise in its suite of world-class ID products.

Cognex offers a variety of resources designed to help guide you through the most important considerations to ensure a successful DPM implementation. Dataman  software can be used with DataMan readers. Compared to laser based ID readers these image based ID readers are more reliable and they can read even codes with low contrast and some damages.
