Distributed antenna systems for indoor coverage networks
The teleoperator signal becomes weaker or may have blind spots inside large buildings. It is possible to build a so called distributed antenna system (DAS) inside the building, which can be used to carry signals of several operators in the same network. Orbis can provide all the antenna system components as a turnkey package.
Distributed antenna systems are used e.g. in airports, stations, office buildings, shopping centres, tunnels and parking garages to amplify signals that are otherwise not strong enough. The same antenna network can carry the network signals of several operators and, by using wide band antennas, it possible to use multiple wavebands (Tetra, @450, GSM, 3G, LTE, WLAN, Wimax).
The core of the system is the combiner box into which the operator signals are brought. From there the signals are transferred to the wide band antennas placed around the premises to be covered. In addition to the antennas and the combiner box, the Orbis turnkey solution includes all required accessories; pre-terminated cables, connectors, power dividers, cable clumps and other installation accessories.
